CRL News

OK gang, this is going to be short and sweet so I can get back to the really important stuff of watching NCAA conference tournaments on ESPN.

Just a few things on the agenda today.

First and most important, money.  Five of us haven’t paid yet.  Yes, I said us.  I forgot too.  But besides me, Otis, Farabee/Keith, Kerr/Thompson, and Hutch need to get their $250 to Glenn ASAP.  We do have certain off-season expenses.  Stat fees, meeting room deposits, etc.  The deadline was March 1.  So get it in.

While we are on the subject of money, here’s a breakdown of what every team gets popped for: $45 for stats, $25 for the meeting room and $10 for miscellaneous expenses.  So that means every team has already spent $80, and we haven’t drafted a player.

Since the five of us forgot to pay on time, we move to the rear in the minor-league draft.  The new minor-league draft order is: 8, 1, 4, 7, 12, 3, 6, 13, 10, 11, 2, 5, 9.

Speaking of minor leaguers, we had a vote on whether to keep them for next year, or throw them back so that everybody drafts completely from scratch.  The vote was 5-1 in favor of throwing them back (I voted to keep them, since I thought it might help trades get done).  But since the majority didn’t go to the polls, we’ll throw the kids back at the end of the year and have a completely new draft next season.

In the process of trying to eliminate team 4 and move team 14’s roster to that spot, I screwed something up on the AllStar Stats website and team 4 has no players.  They really do have players, so I’ve posted the current rosters here for everyone’s use.

If you have trouble logging onto the AllStar Stats site, let me know and I’ll set up a password for you.

I’ve updated all the owner contact info I got, but please check the address page and let me know about anything I either missed or haven’t heard of yet.

I don’t know what’s up with golf this year.  I know that I’d like to play, but I’m not going to set anything up because I’m tired of being League Secretary and Social Director.  I’ll keep doing the secretary thing, but I’m going to let someone else handle the other arrangements.  Here’s what I know so far:  Kerr has got his own tee time somewhere.  Spencer is not playing golf, because he’s literally getting off a plane from Hawaii and getting on one to Vegas and doesn’t feel like dragging his clubs thousands of miles.  So if somebody wants to take the ball and run with it, be my guest.  It may be that everyone is grouping up into foursomes and having one of the group call to make a tee time.  If somebody needs a fourth, let me know.

Finally, a reminder of the important dates.

Friday, March 29, 10 p.m. central time – Roster Freeze Day.

Saturday, April 6, 10 a.m. pacific time – Draft Day.

Once last thing, any of you interested in this year’s NCAA pool, let me know.

See ya’ in Vegas.
